EA (’s monopoly on) Sports

Having approached the NFL and been quickly rebuffed in the hopes of an exclusive contract multiple times over the last year, EA Sports has finally managed to get exclusive rights to NFL Teams, Players and Stadiums for its video game series for the next five years. Ultimately this is going to destroy any other game producer’s chance at making a quality football game that will actually sell. No doubt about it, this move was meant to stop Sega’s ESPN line before it got too big, and it undoubtedly will. Don’t you love unfair competition?
